Silence A Poem and the Car

Silence by Rotarian Lilian Barton

Silence

Silence

It is all around us
The Silence.
No planes, no trains, no cars.
We do not rush
There is time to stand
Time to look.
Look above and see the sky
It might be grey
It might be blue
But it covers me and you.
There is so much to be thankful for.
It is kindness that shares
the silence all around us

Hi Fellow Rotarians,
Just thought I would share with you all the excitements of my day so far. I could begin with boring stuff like I got up had a shower and then had breakfast but that really is boring so I won't say that. Continuing. I decided to go to Booths so I got into my car, I turned the ignition key to start the engine  which was met with a resounding, yes youv'e guessed it, silence!  ( This silence thing is getting attached to me ) Oh BBB!!! I whispered. I do have membership of a car breakdown rescue service but better than that I know a Knight in Shining Armour who fortunately for me is clued up about such things and lives close by. I am told that I just need to be patient now for a couple of hours when all will be well and I shall be back on the road but of course only on essential business when required! Apparently an vital piece of kit called a battery is now on charge. Am I telling my fellow Rotarians things you know. I jolly well hope so. Carry on taking care and keeping well.
Lilian (RAC and AA mechanic trained!)
