In these days of lockdown and social distancing Hungerford Rotary Club were determined not to let the restrictions stop them inducting a new member into the club. Martin Robinson, a software programmer from Hungerford, had attended a number of meetings of the club before the current restrictions came into force and the club President Mike Gilbert from Kintbury took a very modern approach to bring Martin into full membership without having to wait for the present situation to end. With the club members all linking up from their homes on Zoom the induction ceremony was completed and Martin was duly declared a full member of the club. Members of the Rotary club have been kept very busy helping the Hungerford Covid-19 volunteer task force and setting up phone calls to ensure that they are kept in touch this any venerable people in the area. Martin will now join this busy group of volunteers.
