In March 2020 we made a donation of £600 to support the development of the Food bank in Brampton with the help of Carlisle Foodbank.
Quote from Brampton Online News
"SHINE food initiative has been established to meet the growing needs in the communities and parishes of the Brampton area caused by the Corvid 19 crisis.
It will
initially provide bagged dry or tinned food, but has the capacity to produce
hot food as the need develops. People call or text to get food support.
In its initial form, it will operate in parallel with the Brampton Pantry. Food
will be delivered, or can be picked up. The initiative will try to ensure that
those in the community, especially in the surrounding parishes and more rural
isolated locations, are able to get support to access their basic needs at no
cost. People can make donations which will all be used to provide additional
food support. SHINE is also working with the Carlisle Food Bank and Carlisle Meals
on Wheels to distribute food from these services into our communities."
