Club President Keith recently dropped in on the food distribution point where he met some of the volunteers in a Rotary contributing community self help group.

President Keith -
I have spent just over an hour this tea time, with Birstall Food Share seeing first hand the tremendous work a small group of volunteers are doing to help people in need in our local area. I am very pleased that, as President of Rotary Club Birstall Luddites, we have been able to support them with a cash donation of £500 a few weeks ago. The volunteers, led by Lisa Holmes, gave me a great insight into their work. After this, and seeing the enthusiasm and commitment from those volunteers, I was really pleased to be able to let them know we were continuing with our support with a further £500 donation. The two pictures show the volunteers set up and ready to help those in the queue help themselves to a fair share of what was there, loads of fresh fruit and veg eggs, bread and other bits and pieces including a donation of two big boxes of DVD’s for all tastes. Great work Lisa and your team. Glad we can help you help support those in need in our community.
