Guest speaker Robert Phillips

Rob Phillips is the archivist with responsibility for the Welsh Political Archive at the National Library of Wales.   He graduated from the University of Wales, Lampeter, in 1999 with a B.A. in Welsh, and in 2008 with a M.Phil. in Welsh and History and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies from Aberystwyth University.

He has worked at the National Library of Wales since 2001 in a number of departments including Maps and Pictures, Digital Development, Legal Deposit, Official Publications and a number of Digitisation Projects.   He was Project Manager for the Welsh Experience of World War 1 Digitisation Project and the National Assembly for Wales Archive Project and was appointed to his current role in 2013.

Rob welcomed the opportunity to make his presentation to the members and guests of Rotary Bridgend.   His pride and enthusiasm on what has been achieved within the Library and what ambitious plans he is involved in is very encouraging for the future.

The meeting was attended by the majority of members and also guests who listened, questioned and participated in the discussions.

Rob responded by inviting members to attend the Library in Aberystwyth and also offered assistance by phone or e-mail communication.
