A much like and very competitive competition orchestrated by RIBI , the competition aims to provide the participating young people with the opportunity to demonstrate their photographic skill by producing a portfolio of three photographs within the scope of aa brad predetermined topic.
Although a long established competition within RIBI it is only the second year that the Rotary Club of Leven has ran the competition. The art department at Levenmouth Academy have been very enthusiastic in participating. The topic chosen for the Rotary year 2019/2020 was 2Through My Eyes”. A good number of entries were received again this year and the competition was judged by Rotarian and professional photographer Andrew Beveridge and commercial photographer Ewan Fraser.
The competition is divided up into three age groups Junior 7-10 years, intermediate 11-13 years and seniors 14 to 17.
The winners were :- Intermediate 1st Lola Brown, 2nd Ellie Marshall , 3rd Andrew Scott Seniors 1st Bethan Kirkwood, 2nd Hallie Wardlaw, 3rd Leanne Birrell
The winners from each age group were forwarded to the district competition where Bethan Kirkwoods entry was commended.Each entrant received a participation certificate and the winners each received a camera. It is hoped that in the Rotary year 2020/2021 some primary schools can be included in the entries.
