Weekly meeting

President's evening

This evening's Zoom meeting, hosted as usual by Keith, took the place of our scheduled Charter Night, which had to be cancelled in view of the ongoing Covid 19 situation. We were delighted to be joined this evening by our District Governor Jonathan King, and his wife Chris.

Members of Inner Wheel , wives, partners and friends of Rotary also joined us for a lively evening, somewhat different to our normal meetings. Our President Mike Haythorpe had organised a game of 'Higher-Lower', loosely based on TV's Play Your Cards Right. In this game 5 couples were picked to take part, whilst the rest of us shouted encouragement at them. Somehow through the chaos that followed, a winner emerged, and received the prize of two tickets in this year's '100 club' draw.

Jonathan King spoke to us about his own experiences in Rotary and what achieving Service through acquaintance meant to him.

Following the game of 'Higher-Lower'' Keith organised a short quiz, and showed us a musical video about the effects of lockdown.

All in all, an unusual and enjoyable evening.
