We welcome Global Scholar Cerise Siamof

Cerise Siamof is a Rotary-funded Global Scholar, who is spending a year studying Mphil in Health, Medicine and Society at Cambridge University. We were delighted that she accepted our invitation to speak to us about her life in Wisconsin, her studies at Madison University, and now in Cambridge. She was accompanied on Zoom by Vic Starkey, a member of Cambridge Sawston Rotary Club, who are sponsoring her.

Cerise spoke at length about her work, the essays already completed and her dissertation, and how grateful she is to win a Rotary scholarship, without which she could not have come to study in Cambridge. Questions afterwards ranged from the use of Artificial Intelligence in medical decision-making to differences in healthcare provision between the USA and the UK.

She was warmly thanked for spending time speaking to us this evening, as was Vic for facilitating her attendance.
