Sprucing up the town's signs

The club got out their buckets and mops and removed moss and lichen from signs around Cockermouth. One of our activities during Covid-19 restrictions.

Rotary Club of Cockermouth were out in action on Friday 7th August starting at 4 x different locations across town and cleaning their way into Main Street:

  • Gote Road
  • Cockermouth School
  • Lorton Road
  • Brigham Road

Rotarians cleaned the traffic and street name signs (in a Covid Safe manner) to give the town a spruce up to further enhance the welcome we like to give to both our residents and anybody visiting particularly during these strange times we all find ourselves living in now.

During Covid-19, as well as street sign cleaning, Rotary Club of Cockermouth has delivered hundreds of Boredom Buster Boxes to socially isolated residents and have created a Cockermouth Covid-19 memory book which will be launched shortly.
