Presidential Handover

Fri, Aug 7th 2020 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Covid 19 has required Rotary to do some things a bit differently. So the transfer of the Presidential Chain of Office was a flying event.

New President Tony Mealing receives the C of O from outgoing President Steve Evans. Blink and you miss it - Tony didn't.

On a sunny and warm August Friday afternoon there was a committee meeting in Ivor Beeks' garden. After the meeting an unscheduled event started to develop. Steve Evans had been unable to physically handover the presidential chain of office during the Zoom meeting in July, and so took the opportunity to complete the task. But . . . social distancing necessitated some quick and imaginative thinking . . . . so not so much a Handover, more a Tossover!
