Contributing to relief efforts in Beirut

Supporting the work of the Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan

The explosion at the port of Beirut on the 4th August has impacted the whole of the City of Beirut, resulting in widespread destruction, loss of hundreds of lives, thousands of injuries and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of citizens overwhelming hospitals and emergency services.

This tragedy has occurred when the country is already facing difficult political and ecomonic times which has driven more than 50% of the population below the poverty line and it is now having to deal with the Covid virus too.

In tackling the current crisis fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan have set up an emergeny fund to support the recovery operation, and our club is proud to have made a recent financial contribution towards their efforts in providing medical supplies, PPE, food, cleaning up damage and removing debris and providing psychological trauma support.
