Digging into Whitland’s Past for Charity Calendars – Old Photo’s Unearthed!

Narberth and Whitland Rotary following the successful launch of the Narberth Calendar last week are this week introducing the Whitland equivalent. The Rotary are extremely grateful to Jack Mason of Mason Bros for sponsoring the “Now and Then’ Charity Whitland Calendar. Jack a resident of Whitland is a former Ironman, a Current Player and Past Captain of Whitland RFC and has strong family ties with the town he says “ I have a strong affinity for Whitland town and am impressed with the quality of the calendars. They will make great presents, and so much work has gone into their production”. Jack is photographed with Dignitaries of the town and Rotarians with one of his mini diggers from the successful local business.

Some old photos of Whitland have been unearthed by local historian Roger Penn who’s Father the late Dr George Penn collected of Whitland in by gone days and with the modern photos from Mary Adams of Powerpix Photography the calendar is a nice mix of old and new.

Councillor Sue Allen and Mayor Barry Chapman are particularly delighted that the Calendar sums up the character and landmarks of Whitland and feel the calendar is a nice reflection of life in Whitland. There are several outlets in Whitland selling the calendar for £7 including Sarah’s Newsagent and Post Office, The Station House, Roger Penn, Huw Jones of Whitland Male Voice Choir or online by clicking HERE

Fundraising Officer for Narberth and Whitland Rotary John Hughes who produced the calendar comments ‘We have been looking at innovative ways to raise money during this difficult time and thought these calendars were an excellent way of promoting both towns whilst raising money for local good causes. I am thrilled with how they have turned out”.

There is limited production so don’t delay, start buying these for Christmas presents now, you will be helping small local charities who are supported by Narberth and Whitland Rotary.
