Charity Golf Day 2020

A joint event held with Blackburn Rotary raises circa £6,000

Some pictures taken at Clitheroe Golf Club on Tuesday when the joint Charity Golf Day run by Clitheroe Rotary and Blackburn Rotary attracted 140 players. Despite early morning mist that delayed play by almost an hour, all 35 teams managed to complete their rounds before darkness fell.

The players enjoyed a break after 9 holes to enjoy a socially distanced packed lunch in the Rotary gazebos where raffle tickets were sold and players had the opportunity for bidding in a silent auction.

The event was organised to raise funds for East Lancs Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and other Rotary-supported charities and it is anticipated that altogether around £6,000 will have been raised. Thanks are due to Clitheroe GC, all the golfers, volunteers and the sponsors of the day for their support
