A Lonely Tribute to the Fallen
Members lay a wreath to honour the fallen
Covid-19 restrictions have meant that the traditional Remembrance Day services, when the local military and service organisations meet together to honour the war dead at a parade and church service, have been cancelled this year.
The members of the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill, however, were anxious to continue to pay tribute to those who gave their lives during service for this country and so, on Tuesday 3rd November, President Geoff Kittle and a party of members attended a brief, poignant if lonely, wreath laying ceremony at the Rayleigh War Memorial on London Hill to continue to honour the war dead.
