India Covid Crisis - Donate

Date started: 07/05/2021

India does not have anything like the NHS and people there, particularly the poor, are undergoing an ordeal that we in the UK escaped. No NHS - shortages of oxygen - people dying without treatment. We at Ashtead Rotary have a fellow member currently in Calcutta and he and we are working with fellow Rotarians in India to provide help and support - not in weeks but NOW. Join us by making a donation to our emergency COVID INDIA campaign today.

Leatherhead Community Fridge - Donate

Date started: 11/02/2021.

FOOD IS FOR PEOPLE NOT FOR LANDFILL! Leatherhead Community Fridge works with local supermarkets to take surplus food and distribute it to needy families in the local community. A Not for Profit community interest company, it is run by over 100 volunteers and needs funds to pay for distribution costs. For more information see www.leatherheadcommunityfridge.co.uk. This is a matching appeal where Ashtead Rotary will match donations £ for £ up to £1,000.

Christmas Collections 2020 - Donate

Date started: 15/12/2020.

Ashtead Rotary collects on the streets of Ashtead every Christmas and in 2020 we are campaigning to support young people within our community. We are collecting funds for ALDAG, Ashtead 1st Pelham Scouts and Ashtead Youth Centre. These local charities are vital to our community. Your contributions help Rotary support ALDAG's work with young people with learning disabilities, fund access to the benefits of scouting for children whose parents don't have resources, and the efforts to sustain Ashtead's Youth Centre. Please click the link above to donate or visit The Street, Barnett Wood Lane or Craddocks Parade on Saturday 19th December to donate by cash or contactless payment.

Beirut Port Disaster - Donate

Date started: 17/09/2020

On August 4 a warehouse in Beirut port exploded, destroying buildings around it and making 300,000 people homeless. We are raising funds for SARAID a small but specialist UK based charity that is providing expert volunteers (Engineers and Technicians) to help with the emergency response and rebuilding programme. Volunteers have been in Beirut carrying out building damage assessments. They are raising funds so they can return to train and support others with this immense task. We are donating at least £500 from our now limited funds on behalf of the people of Ashtead who support our work. Help us increase this by making a donation to our campaign and dont forget to Gift Aid it if you are a UK taxpayer. S.A.R.A.I.D is a British Emergency Response charity dedicated to trying to save the lives of innocent victims of disaster, as well as relieving human suffering around the world regardless of colour, creed, religion and political persuasion. Registered Charity Number: 1101593

Ashtead Rotary's Local Causes - Donate

Date started: 16/06/2020

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Ashtead Rotary Club had to cancel its major fundraising event in 2020: Ashtead Rotary Village Day. In order to continue to support the work of Ashtead Rotary locally, we are gratefully accepting donations.

Epsom and Ewell Foodbank - Donate

Date started: 03/04/2020

As the UK entered a period of lockdown at the end of March, requests for food from the Foodbank DOUBLED as residents of Epsom, Ashtead and Leatherhead saw their income just dry up. At the same time individual donations at Supermarkets also slowed due to shortages. The food bank needs money to make direct purchases to feed the families who are in distress at this time. If you would normally donate food items but cannot do this due to lockdown, please consider donating the money instead so the food bank can continue to provide this much needed service.

Ashtead Rotary Club uses JustGiving as its online fundraising platform. Donations made through JustGiving may be eligible for Gift Aid depending on the tax status of the individual donating. Justgiving deducts payment and Gift Aid processing fees, which will slightly reduce donations. JustGiving service fees are covered by Ashtead Rotary members and not deducted from charity funds.
