Youth Speaks

Developing young people's confidence in public speaking

Youth Speaks is held in the form of a debate. It presents an opportunity for young people to develop the ability to speak on a public platform, carry out research and formulate ideas, improve self-confidence and presentation skills, and work as a team.

Competitions are held for Years 7- 9 and Years 10 – 13.  The venue can vary and depends on which schools are taking part.  The year has been influenced by COVID but in the end four teams from King Edward VI School, Stratford-upon-Avon took part.  Seen here are the Presidents of Stratford-Upon-Avon and Shipston Rotary Clubs presenting certificates to the winners. The winning team goes forward to the Rotary District competition and, if successful there, they proceed to the national competition.
