Beside all the local and international work that Rotary does
Rotary has set up its own charitable Foundation that has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects since it was founded more than 100 years ago. The Rotary Foundation is a vehicle to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
For the last 30 years Rotary has been a major partner in the campaign to end polio worldwide, now only Pakistan and Afghanistan remain endemic. In India, National Immunisation Days against polio have been held for many years. Rotarians have participated in such events where the aim is to immunise children under five with an oral vaccine.
