Speaker meeting via Zoom with Douglas Hall

Tue, Feb 16th 2021 at 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

2020: An interesting introduction to volunteering. Partners and guests welcome.

Douglas will speak of the challenge he faced - On being a first time volunteer in 2020 running the Newmarket Coronavirus Helpline during lockdown, with no prior experience, having no idea what he was getting into, learning as he went along, trying to utilise skills from his work life to make it all a bit easier, all whilst dealing with other crises of an intensity he had never previously considered or experienced. (And trying to relax by taking up painting).
