Glynne was born in Palestine, spending his childhood in Gaza and Haifa, during the League of Nations Mandate where his father worked for the police. In 1948 they returned to the UK finally settling in Birmingham. He attended King Edwards’ Grammar School, then began working for Cadbury’s. Glynne went to Coventry to train to be a teacher, he started teaching in 1963 on the Seacroft estate in Leeds.
1970 saw him as Deputy Head at Whinmoor C of E in North Leeds and three years later he became Head of Aireville Terrace Primary School in Burley-inWharfedale. He remained in the post until he retired in 2000.
Glynne and his wife Yvonne are long standing caravaners, they travel a lot in Europe and that is where they will be celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary.
