Rotary Clubs in Ilkley

2 Rotary Clubs in the town

The other local club is The Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale which has about 30 members, including 6 women. This club was created 30 years ago by members of the Rotary Club of Ilkley.

Ilkley Wharfedale preferred to meet in the evening in a more informal atmosphere. It meets on Tuesdays, at 19.00 for 19.30 at the Riverside Hotel on Bridge Lane, Ilkley.

There is a close and good cooperation between both clubs, e.g. having joint street and supermarket collections at the Christmas lights switch on and after major disasters.

Last year the club organised amongst other events, an Indian Cultural Extravaganza, with music, food and dance, which raised over £2,000 for Project Nanth Kali supporting education for under privileged girls in India.

Usual events would be an evening of music, a Spanish evening and an annual Brass Band event. As a result of COVID19, we’ve had to cancel these events but we very much look forward to be able to rearrange them once its safe to do so

The Rotary Club Ilkley meets at lunchtime 12.00pm every Tuesday at The Wheatley Hotel, Ben Rhydding, including after lunch speakers from varied walks of life.

Due to COVID 19 - all meetings are taking place via Zoom.
