Cash for Community Christmas Dinner

Matlock Rotary Club has awarded a Community Grant of £300 to Bryn Apperley, Vice Chairman of Matlock Town Football Club, towards the cost of a Christmas dinner that Bryn organises for people in Matlock who otherwise would spend Christmas alone.

Bryn holds the Christmas dinner on Christmas Day at Matlock Town’s clubhouse and this year he expects over thirty people to attend. Everyone who attends is given a full Christmas dinner, a Christmas card and a present.

Bryn said” It is great to be giving something back at Christmas. It is a time for giving and this is a very rewarding way of helping the local community.”

Phil Pegg, the President of Matlock Rotary Club said “As a local club we are pleased to be supporting Bryn’s Christmas Dinner. It is a terrific project that gives food and friendship to local people.”

Community Grants from Matlock Rotary Club are available for worthwhile local projects in the Matlock community. To be eligible, applications for a grant should be locally based and demonstrate benefit to the community. Grants of up to £500 are available.
