Race Night

Our virtual race night raised over £1000

Racing was fast and furious1

The Rotary Club of Reading Matins held a successful online race event that was held during the evening of Friday 15th January 2021.

The race night comprised 5 races with 8 horses in each race together with Bingo, Heads & Tails and a Silent Auction. It was an exciting evening, placing bets, and then waiting to see if one was successful in choosing the winning horse in each race, winning the Bingo or Heads and Tails and bidding in the auction.

The race night was well supported by Club members, Rotarians from other clubs, their partners and friends including District 1090 Governor Marius Hopley and his wife Saerah.

The event was held to support the Rotary’s world - wide charity called ‘Foundation’ and resulted in over £1000 being raised during the one and a half hours of the race night. The mission of Foundation is to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
