MORPETH ROTARY BUSINESS
The last business meeting reported a request for help from an autism charity and a discussion on which charities would benefit from a personal fundraising project by members. The next beneficiary will be Contact Mental Health in Morpeth. Other projects were Christmas gifts for care homes taken round by the President and funding sent off for the NHS Field of Hope project at Ashington Hospital. Members were disappointed that lock-down meant they had not been allowed to greet the public at the Tree of Light although Rhona Dunn, the project organiser, was pleased and surprised that £4000 was raised. The money will go to Rotary’s charity St. Oswald’s Hospice, the Sanderson Arcade charity Tiny Lives and the Mayor’s charity Contact Mental Health.
The President from July 2021 will be Mary Kendall, Vice President Arif Shahab and President Elect Nadeem Shah. Plans are being put together along with Alnwick Rotary for an e-Rotary club in the north of Tyne area.
