This year, 2022 Valentine's day fell by coincidence on a Monday, and so we were able to entertain our partners at our Club Meeting. We were greeted with a glass of 'bubbles' and the ladies recieved a red rose as a momento of the evening. Later in the evening we were entertained by Liz Diggins and Sam Grant reading a variety of Love Poems, some very 'luvvy' and some hilarious. Our President responded with a suitable piece from Mr R Burns! Many thanks to both Liz and Sam who appear in the picture, top left, and members enjoying their Valentine's evening...bottom right.

Over the Rotary Year our Sports and Entertainment committee organise a number of club social events which are not intended as fund raising opportunities but a chance for club members and their wives and partners to meet socially outside normal club weekly meetings. The pictures show members meeting at The Swan at Reading Street half way through a walk around North Foreland, and earlier in the year overloading a bridge on another walk out and about the Preston Marshes.
So far this year the committee have organised an evening at the Quex Crazy Golf in Birchington followed by a German Bar- B- Q, indoor bowling in Cliftonville with a fish n chip supper, the two walks which were followed by a lunch at nearby pubs, and a night at the theatre in Whitstable preceeded by an evening meal.
On 9 December we were delighted to join other Thanet clubs for the traditional carol service organised Westgate and Birchington.
No doubt if the weather gets cold enough they will have us all skiiing on the nearby Thanet slopes!
