St. Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston

A presentation detailing the work and aims of the charity.

Helen Carlson

The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 22nd March was Helen Carlson, Head of Fundraising for St. Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston who gave a presentation detailing the work and aims of the charity. Its target area is the South Lakes across to the west coast of Cumbria and they provide free care and comfort for patients suffering from all conditions including cancers, neurological disorders and respiratory and heart disease.

She reported on the impact the Covid 19 pandemic and how they are managing the situation and how they are working towards the future once the restrictions are eased. Whist it will be a challenge, she is confident that they are in a good position to continue and maintain the tremendous standard of care they have always provided.
