ROTARY CLUB OF CHESTFIELD
NOTES OF BREAKFAST MEETING
Held on
March 31st, 2022

Visitor: Ted Rooney, Whitstable Rotary Club.

Almoner: Jackie has been in touch with David K, who is caring for his wife following an illness – we wish them well.
Lesley mentioned some members were absent due to illness, Covid or both. As a result, there are now spaces available at the Quiz night so if anyone would like to join us let David M/ Nick know.
District Ukrainian Day – put on hold. Many thought it untimely – there will be much to do in the future.
Ted reported Whitstable Rotary is supporting one family and their car parking collections are going to support them.
International: Andrew reported that W4W went very well and thanked everyone involved.
He asked if everyone would look out for our Global Scholar who will be attending the Quiz. Andrew is again offering her accommodation.
Hospices for Hope and International Medical relief donations will be further discussed at Board.
TWAM – Andrew asked everyone to ask around neighbours etc for tools – poster to be displayed at Quiz.
Fundraising – Sue confirmed all in hand for Quiz night. Nick and Godfrey will open up and set up from 6pm.
Andrew M offered table clothes – these will be collected by Robert and washed and ironed afterwards by Hilary.
Trevor to be contacted to confirm all ok with him.
TWAM and Barn Dance to be advertised at Quiz.
Community:
Kathy was asked if a date had been set for putting in bedding plants at Whit and Tank hospital. Marian confirmed a date needed to be set by Club and then she can let hospital know.
Lesley is meeting with the Tesco Community liaison on April 19th to find out more about what they do.
Sue had spoken to Sainsburys who informed her they had run out of money this financial year – she will write in the new financial year.
District Grants: David M has ordered all equipment for Tankerton Ladies Football – Dave C is liaising with Over 60’s club re their new dishwasher.
Midyear reports are needed from Open you Heart to Bhutan – Andrew will follow up and Foodfriends and Rising Sun – Kathy to follow up.
A.O.B:
Hilary asked if the time capsule has been disturbed by Bullockstone Road works – Andrew confirmed not.
Lesley confirmed our ADG will be at our next business meeting (April 21st)
Reggie was thanked for bringing in some excellent raffle prizes.
