Members heard a presentation by Lynne Kalman and Ruth Lyle who represent the Stroke Association. They spoke, from personal experience, of the circumstances surrounding strokes, the need for rapid response, and the detail of recovery.
Several questions ensued and these were fully dealt with before Mairhi Trickett gave a comprehensive Vote of Thanks.
The Club made a donation of £25 to the Stroke Association, and members were invited to support a 5 km. fund-raising walk to be taken by Ruth and several friends two days later in aid of the charity. On checking the Just Giving page some days later this had brought more than £100 in personal donations from Hawick's Rotarians.
