Local store provides nourishment for volunteers

Tesco comes up with a little extra

Since December the Rotary Clubs of Furness, Furness Peninsula, and Barrow-in-Furness, assisted by doctors and nurses from the Primary Care Network, have been volunteering as marshals at the Alfred Barrow Health Centre as people have been receiving Covid vaccinations.

Members of the public have also been making financial donations which will benefit the charity work of all three clubs.

This help has been recognised by the town’s Tesco Extra store who have donated snacks, bottled water and juice to keep the volunteers nourished.

Furness Club President Martin McLeavey accepted the donation on behalf of all the volunteers and thanked the store for its generosity.

Tesco Community Champion Nat is pictured presenting the goodies to Furness Club President Martin.
