Clubs commemorate Duke of Edinburgh

New tree in Coronation Gardens

The Rotary Club of Furness has teamed up with the Rotary Club of Furness Peninsula to commemorate the life of the Duke of Edinburgh.

An oak tree in his memory has been planted in Coronation Gardens on Abbey Road, with the blessing of Barrow Borough Council.

A locally manufactured guard has been fitted, and it is planned to install a plaque and have an official "unveiling" in due course.
