Help in Nepal

Aid required due to KOVID 19 pandemic

Philip Holmes Lt.Col (ret'd) from the Pipal Tree Foundationj providing help to those in Nepal suffering due to the KOVID 19 Pandemic gave the members of the club an insight to the work his organisation is doing in that part of the world. Following the talk various members of the club sent their individual donations to the cause.

Philip tells us that he is proud to share the above picture of the first five young women to have completed their basic tailoring course at our "Lily's Leaves" social enterprise in Kathmandu. It may appear to be a small start, but in fact it's a massive achievement in the midst of the raging COVID pandemic that spilled over the border from India.

These young women came to us from their remote villages and patriarchal communities with no skills, prospects or hopes for the future. But, through taking up the challenge of six months' residential training, we have helped them to find all three and they are now brimming with confidence.
