On 7thJuly, Rotarian Stan Jukes was inducted as President of Wednesfield Rotary. He is immensely proud to be President for the year 2021-2022 and his aim is to offer help to those disadvantaged in the area. He thanked the immediate Past President Professor Patrick Ball for his leadership during 2020-2021.

Stan is incredibly involved in working with Rotary, offering service to the community of Wednesfield. He can be seen every year driving Santa as he tours the village over a 10-day period just before Christmas, together with shaking his can in Sainsbury’s.

Hopefully, his year will be lockdown free and back to normal enough for him to lead the Club in many fundraising activities which will allow the club to provide the support needed. Wednesfield Primary Schools can get free books through the Rotary ‘Books4home’ scheme which Stan organises in the area, together with other forms of support for the children.

Stan’s main charity will be “Teenage Cancer Trust”, a charity which supports local teenagers who suffer from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.  With help from the local community and friends he hopes to provide support of one form or another to as many organisations as possible.

Stan spent his working life in the car trade, starting as a Mechanic and finishing as the General Manager of a large Peugeot dealership. He is now retired and his non Rotary activities include gardening and enjoying time with his family.

Stan can be seen in the photograph receiving his chain of office from Barry Picken MBE, who is a Past President of the Club.
