President’s Announcements:

An update on the situation in Haiti from Phil Davies has been sent to members.

Secretary’s Announcements:

1.     The speaker at Whitehaven Castle at 6.45 for 7 PM on the 14th will be PDG Welma Robinson. She will talk about her life in South Africa and Foundation.

If you are going, please contact Secretary Ronnie by email to let him know.  It would be courteous to let them know by Friday 8th of October. The choice of meal is either roast beef or salad for £12.  

2.     Penrith Charter. Friday 15th October. 7 for 7.30 at the George Hotel. Dress formal. Cost £27. The speaker will be from Riders for the Disabled. Please let Secretary Ronnie know by email by Friday 8th of October if you are going.

3.     The Cockermouth Charter will be on Friday 28th of January 2022. Details will be available nearer the time.

4.     The DG has been informed of the death of Richard Carling; he will be writing to Adelaide.

Together with our colleagues from the Rotary Club of Whitehaven Castle we planted 4,000 purple crocus corms at Whitehaven Harbour. We are hopeful that our 30+ year programme to rid the world of this disease is nearing its end. Thanks for your support.

An update on this 3 year project to tidy up the harbour at Whitehaven and improve the environment. To date we have refurbished 21 metal bollards, 100 feet of metal railings and have cleaned signage and other metal furniture.
