29th July 2021 Rotary Walk organised by Trevor
Rotary Walk 29th July. Bingham Railway Station to Car Colston, return. Dep Railway Station at 17.30, return approx. 20.30, with refuel at the “Royal Oak” Car Colston. Subject to weather conditions, as it happened the weather was fine, but disappointingly only 9 of us braved the walk and it must have been easy as “Old Twelly” managed it, no problem. Naturally Pam & Trevor lead off, but soon over taken by Rob and Allen, quickly followed by Barry, Denis, Mary and Helen. We were joined at the eatery, by Susan, Jill, Gordon, Clive & Rozy, with Doug meeting us part way along whilst taking his dog for a walk.
Those taking of the Royal Oak food enjoyed their meals and Helen & I enjoyed the walk back accompanied by our guide Rob, who gave us some interesting facts about the Butt field, the Lake, finishing off with a visit to see the part constructed new Bingham Leisure centre. However, I’m told by Trevor that there was an amazing wildlife display- very tall hares, and families of young pheasants, after we left.
All in all a good evening of fellowship and a start on our ‘face to face’ real events as we progress back to as near as normality possible, currently….big thanks to Trevor, Rob & Pam. AR
