We were delighted to welcome Freda, one of our new members, who talked to us on Thursday 23rd September.

President Elect Bill McGregor and Freda

Freda, one of our newest members spoke to us about her life in general as opposed to a job talk as she has been retired for a few years now. She told us of her early years when her father was an itinerant farm worker and eventually a farm manager.  Coming back to live in Ayrshire, success in a variety of sports at school, married at 18 and fell pregnant almost immediately, training as a teacher and serving at a number of Ayrshire's Primary Schools; eventually retiring as Head Teacher; her family - 2 daughters and grandchildren (6) - and finally her interest in the Loudoun Musical Society and numerour local charities.
