Evening meeting - MEMBERSHIP

Mon, Jan 31st 2022 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Ken would like everyone in the club to attend this important meeting.

Now that Santa has been packed away for another year, it is time to concentrate on membership.

I plan to hold a club meeting on the evening of 31st January at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, meet at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.

Our club is in a far better position than a lot of others in our District with regards to membership. However, this does not mean we have to become complacent, thinking we are in a good position when in fact we are not. If you want our club to continue as a progressive forward-thinking club, we need to bring in new members with new ideas and willing to share the workload. We cannot keep/expect the hand full of members to carry on taking on more and more of the day to today tasks. If we don’t start to plan for the future with a robust membership policy, where every member will play their part, the only outcome for our club in the future will be one club for the Hyndburn area. If that’s what you want, fine, let’s carry on the same old road.

Since I joined back in 2014 every Membership Chairman has said each member is responsible for recruiting and yet we are still in need of new members!  I wish to present on the 31st of January my vision for membership recruitment for the remainder of 2022 and beyond. In fact, I believe recruitment is so important to our club I am asking EVERY member makes the effort to attend. After my presentation, I will be asking you to vote on my suggested programme. In fact, everyone will be voting to take ownership of their part of the recruitment drive.

The reason I have chosen an evening, is so everyone including our working members can attend. I appreciate some of our lunchtime members don’t attend evening meetings. Please make the effort and come along in support of your club. If you are not comfortable driving in the evening, let me know, transport will be arranged.

I need numbers, please drop me an e-mail advising if you will or will not attend and if you require a lift, before the 22nd January, unless I get 20 members willing to show their support, it’s not worth holding the meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 31st.
