Celebrity Dinner - Maya Sondhi - Maneet in Line of Duty

The speaker will be Maya Sondhi, a highly successful television actor and screenwriter.

As an actress, her most well known role was as PC Maneet Bindra in Line of Duty. She was the one who met a grisly end at the beginning of the last series.

She also starred as Citizen Khan’s sensible daughter Shazia in the first two series.

As a writer, she has written episodes for television series including Eastenders, The Kumars at Number 42 and Ackley Bridge.

She currently has a serial, DI Ray, in production that she has written. It will be screened by ITV  next year. The serial is produced by Jed Mercurio creator of Line of Duty and stars Parminder Nagra of Bend It Like Beckham.

Maya has used her amazing talent as a voiceover artist for promotional work and in children’s cartoons.

Having been on the acting and production sides of a major series, Maya will be able to give us insights into the world of television drama.
