Christmas Toy Appeal 2021

Collection of new toys for distribution to primary school children in need of support

Dukinfield and Stalybridge Christmas Toy Appeal

In 2020 the Club launched a new project to collect toys for local children who wouldn't otherwise receive presents on Christmas Day due to their family circumstances.  Club members collected unwanted toys from friends and family, purchased new toys to donate and leafleted locally to increase the donations.  Local schools identified the children and families who needed our help and collected the toys for distribution.  The project was a tremendous success so the Club has decided to run it again in 2021, including some new activities to extend its impact.

Project leader, Rotarian Brenda Hawkins, said:

"Our ambition in 2021 is to extend our reach so we can meet the growing need in Tameside.  We've contacted Primary Schools in Dukinfield and Stalybridge and they have identified the children and families who need our help.  We're once again running the appeal for donations of new and unwanted new toys and gifts suitable for young children.  Anyone who can donate should contact me on 07834 220388 to arrange either to drop off the toys at Ashton Golf Club or for a Rotary member to pop by and collect the them."
