MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: These were accepted.
MATTERS ARISING: David Hope was concerned that the referenced to David might cause confusion even when taken in context. It was agreed that the Davids will be referred to as David H, David S and David W-B etc.
ELECTION OF THE CLUB PRESIDENT:
Please refer to the minutes of club council on 6.12.21. It was agreed that
1. Tom Milburn and Ronnie Proudfoot will remain in post as Treasurer and Secretary for the next two Rotary years.
2. That the six senior Rotarians in the club will share the Presidency in the Centenary year 2023-24.
3. That the Presidency in Rotary year 2022-23 will be shared by six volunteers from the rest of the club. No previous experience will be needed.
It is anticipated that the administrative burden on the President during both years will not be onerous.

Election of voting delegates to District:
The delegates will be selected from those serving as President in the appropriate year.

Anthony Payne raised concerns about the Omicron variant of COVID and asked if we should cancel next week’s Christmas Dinner meeting. After discussion it was decided that the club secretary would speak to the Manager at the Chase to see what the options might be.
Proposals:
1. To change the date of the AGM from the evening meeting on 5.4.22 to the lunchtime meeting on 12.4.22. Tony Parker. This was agreed by the club.
2. To place a Centenary Bench on the Harbour. Richard Stout. This ws agreed by the club.
3. To award Jane Saxon at PHF for her services to Kids Out. Gordon Southward. This was agreed by the club.

moreAn update on this 3 year project to tidy up the harbour at Whitehaven and improve the environment. To date we have refurbished 21 metal bollards, 100 feet of metal railings and have cleaned signage and other metal furniture.
