Help for patients with dementia
At a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn Sharon Stevens, a specialist nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, spoke to members about her work at the with dementia patients. She described how the ward system works and informed members that there are dementia patients on most wards at the hospital. Sharon visits the wards on a daily basis to assess needs and works closely with the chaplaincy at the hospital. She explained that there was a need for toiletries and other items as many patients do not have loved ones to visit them or provide such items. The Club was pleased to donate two boxes of toiletries to help with this work, including razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps and face flannels.
