Richard High is awarded the prestigious ‘Paul Harris Fellowship’

The Paul Harris Fellowship award is named after Rotary’s founder and is awarded to those very exceptional Rotarians who go consistently beyond and above the norm in their dedication and activity levels in the pursuance of all things Rotary. All Rotarians contribute what their personal circumstances allow them to contribute in the work that they do for the community and the fund raising they execute for local, national and International charities. This after all is the main reason they become and remain Rotarians.

But once in a while, a member stands out by virtue of his level of activity and his relentless adherence to ‘Service Before Self’, the Rotary motto.

Over the years there have been small number of members who have fitted this description and have been recognised as a result.

Richard High has been a member for 12 years and has been utterly outstanding in everything he has touched in Rotary ever since. He has relentlessly led most of the youth service initiatives and continues to do so. He has been chairman of committees most years and a valued and active member when he is not chairing. He was the first to step forward as President in 2013 and 2014 when Peter Tasker was unable to take up the role through poor health.

He is the member who can be relied on to lead whatever needs leading ably demonstrated by his initiative to drive forward Priory’s determination to assist in the national effort to promote sustainability and to address environmental issues. Richard is the epitome of a fine and outstanding Rotarian so it comes as no surprise that the whole of our Priory Club voted unanimously in favour of this award.
