Ukrainian Refugee Collections in Diss

Members of Diss Town Council congratulated the two Diss-based rotary clubs for their fundraising efforts - after they raised more than £10,000 by collecting donations from passers-by in the town on 4th/5th March.  All donations have been sent directly to Moldova to aid refugees fleeing from Ukraine.

On 25th/26th March Diss and District Rotary Club and Diss Waveney Rotary Club again partnered to hold collections along Mere Street, raising £3,000 which is to be equally shared between refugee programmes in Moldova and Poland.

Therefore a total of £13,000 has been raised to help with this unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine.

Diss mayor Eric Taylor said "These outstanding results are testimony to the generosity of the Diss community".
