Club Meeting

On Thursday 23rd June, President Derek Clark of South Queensferry Rotary presented a Community Award to Nigel Hutchison. Nigel, who was proposed for the award by Neil McKinlay, has supported the Friends of Ferry Glen Group for many years, providing excellent technical and practical advice. Nigel has also advised on vegetable growing lessons at St Margaret's Primary School and has been a longstanding  elder of Queensferry Parish Church.

Neil McKinlay also proposed Fiona Chandler for a Rotary Community Award. Fiona has supported the Friends of Ferry Glen Group for many years and has assisted with a wide range of environmental projects. Fiona is also an active participant in GreenFerry Planting Group and helps maintain Hawthorn Bank Community Gardens.

The Ronald Ainsworth Trophy, which goes to a young person who has made a difference in the community, was awarded to Lucy Kennie. Lucy completed a six-month placement at QCCC (Queensferry Care) where staff and service users thought very highly of her. Lucy is at college and spends two days a week at St John's Hospital. She hopes to qualify as a nurse.
