May 2022 Rotary in Cambridge Centennial Lantern Ribbon Ceremony

Thu, May 5th 2022 at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Christs Pieces followed by a reception at Emmanuel College.

Today we gather on Christs Pieces to celebrate 100 Years of Rotary in Cambridge and then enjoy a Reception at Emmanuel College. (Booking essential). In attendance - DG Ian Elliott, AG Tim Boyden, Master of Emmanuel (rtd), High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Presidents Jenny Chapman-Hay and Sian Franklin plus Rotarians from each of the 4 Cambridge Clubs.

In response to a need identified to illuminate a dark corner of Christs Pieces a Lantern has been bought and in co-operation with the City Council and local colleges and businesses is now installed.

The tasteful base carved in stone commemorates the event and will for years to come acknowledge the presence of Rotary in the city and all the good it has produced over more than 100 years !

All the 4 local Clubs have come together to enable the project :

Cambridge Rotary Club

Cambridge South Rotary Club

Cambridge Rutherford Rotary Club

Cambridge Sawston Rotary Club.
