On the International front, for some time now, Dalbeattie Rotarians, in association with First Base, Dumfries have been providing modest financial support for the Kupata Project in Uganda whereby sanitary products are made available to girls at school at a cost of £350 per annum, including to pupils at Rwesasi High School, in the Kabale District of the country. This aid project has been ongoing against a background of AIDS in former years and more recently of the Pandemic which has led to long periods of lockdown, with little or no support for those who have had their incomes destroyed. People have also had to face the worst drought in living memory, followed by torrential rains which have has destroyed many crops and driven up the price of food. The photographs show school staff and pupils at Rwesasi High School in a show of appreciation.
