Breakfast meeting with a cheque presentation to Gary Fagg MBE representing the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust
Only a small group of Sunrise members today for breakfast due to holidays and illness.
We heard from our guest Gary Fagg MBE from The Paula Carr DiabetesTrust who collected a donation from us of £500.
The Trust was started in memory of schoolgirl Paula Carr who died following a hypoglycaemic episode in 1988.
Today, centres in Ashford, Maidstone and Margate provide integrated care, treatment, screening, education and support for adults and children living with diabetes.
Gary gave us an insight into the many health complications that can result from diabetes and an update on new treatments and technologies.
