The seven Fleetwood junior schools compete for the Rotary Trophy

The Science staff at Fleetwood Sports College once again excelled themselves with the fiendish tasks devised to test the teams' scentific knowledge. Where do foods come from? How high can you propel a rocket? Identify the circuit diagrams? Whiich tuning fork is highest? What happens when you heat things? Sort my sweets. and Which rock fizzes.

Following a testing quiz, the teams were invited to devise a system to protect an egg which was to be dropped from a great height. The only tools available were two sheets of newspaper, a metre of string, two strips of sticky tape and two balloons.

After all these tests, the 2009 winners of the Rotary Trophy were the girls from Charles Saer School. Well done, girls!
