Biogas Plant Visit
Rotarians made a visit to the Biogas Plant at Crofthead Farm, Haugh of Urr
Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas Rotarians made a joint visit to the Biogas Plant at Crofthead Farm, Haugh of Urr, on Wednesday 15 June 2022, being shown round the facility by Mark Callander, who farms at Crofthead. Utilising animal manure, Methane and Carbon Dioxide gases are separated on site, with gas fed into the national grid and Carbon Dioxide dry ice blocks and pellets produced. The end by product of the operation is compost. Nothing wasted!
