Coytrahen Heritage Walk

This months walk  took eight walkers on the Coytrahen Heritage trail.

Meeting at the community hall, we set off past the Nicholls Arms up into the woods and to the disused coal tramway. The tramway lead us through the well established woods to the main Bridgend to Maesteg road. After crossing the road we came to the Shwt bridge.

The bridge is somewhat unique with its curved design, taking the railway line across the fast flowing Llynfi river. Heading down the valley via lush fields and several stiles we followed the river to Coytrahen House. The house built in the late 18th century is now being restored to some of its former glory.

Crossing the Llynfi again, we headed back to Coytrahen and the Nicholls Arms pub for lunch.
