Trip to see Cardiff City v Luton Town FC

Tue, Aug 30th 2022 at 7:45 pm - 9:45 pm

One in our midst is a keen Luton Town supporter, with the rest of us supporting the home side. A win for the away side which was unexpected and will be hard to live down.

The ten Cardiff City supporters who set off from Abergavenny Bus Station on Tuesday evening were hoping for great things from the home side playing Luton Town FC at 19:45 at the Cardiff City Stadium. We picked up the sole Luton Town supporter from Plas Derwyn on the way out of town. He did not look too hopeful even in his trademark Hatters straw boater putting on a brave face. Sadly the home team let us down badly, plenty of running on the ball but no finishing. It was 0-0 at half time and we still thought Cardiff would clinch it. Luton however were quick on the ball in the second half and snatched two goals to go 0-2 quite early on. A consolation goal for Cardiff in the dying minutes despite drawing delight from the home crowd, was little consolation with the final score of Cardiff 1 Luton 2 at full time. The picture of the face of our sole Luton supporter says it all really. Well, there is always another day, but I don't think we will be travelling all the way to Luton later in the season to see it.
