Derek Barker... all you ever wanted to know about 'Bradford Bricks'

Derek Barker is an independent researcher who, after retiring from a long career as a doctor in the NHS, graduated in Archaeological Sciences from the University of Bradford. Most of his interests have involved local extractive industries, especially coal-mining, quarrying and brick-making. His other enthusiasms are for glass and the material culture of Iron Age and Roman Britain, for which he admit there is not much call locally. He is a joint leader of an archaeology & geology group in Bradford U3A where many of these topics are discussed.
